Welcome from the President

The Missionary Baptist Ministers' Conference of Washington D.C. and Vicinity is pleased that you decided to visit us online. We hope that you will find the information contained herein useful and profitable for your personal edification, as well as keep you abreast of the constructive and progressive things the Conference is involved in. You are encouraged to visit our web-site regularly to learn about the various seminars, one-day intensive workshop sessions, Quarterly Enrichment sessions, and the E. L. Harrison preaching series, plus much more. Several of the sessions hosted by the Conference are open to the general public. From time to time, the Conference will write theologically sound resolutions and take firm stands against public policy issues detrimental to the poor and suffering in our midst. All position statements will be posted on the web-site for convenient viewing and reference.
The Missionary Baptist Ministers Conference of Washington, D.C. and Vicinity organized in 1885, rightly understands its responsibility to be a beacon of light where the dark vestiges of sin in the form of social, political, and economic injustice exists. We affirm through the preamble of our written constitution not to allow inequality, discrimination and suffering in our midst to go unchecked or unchallenged.
It is apparent in our contemporary times that the employment of technology is necessary to keep up with the swiftly changing trends and political winds. The institution of this web-site will serve to quicken our alerts for calls to action; it will communicate to pastors urgent issues that sometimes fall through the cracks; it will allow the Conference to quickly post priestly and prophetic position statements on social justice issues; and it will also allow for special announcements to celebrate pastors and churches on notable and praise-worthy achievements.
As president, I am delighted to highlight the significant and profound difference this web-site will make in the coming months. Above all else, perhaps its greatest worth is that it will serve to cement our common bonds of spiritual fellowship. As long as our bond is centered in Jesus Christ, who is the head of the (church) body, we will not fail.
In Surrendered Service in Jesus Christ -- I remain,
The Reverend Dr. James Coleman
